PUBLIC NOTICE

SULLIVAN TOWNSHIP 5-YEAR RECREATION PLAN

 

Public notice is hereby given that the Sullivan Township Planning Commission, serving as the Recreation Committee, will hold the following public meetings on the creation of the Sullivan Township 5-Year Recreation Plan. All meetings will be held at the Sullivan Township Hall, located at 8138 Heights Ravenna Road, Ravenna, MI 49451.

 

  • Thursday, November 29, 2018, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm: Public open house.
  • Thursday, November 29, 2018, 6:30 pm: Planning Commission meeting- recreation plan goals, objectives, and action program discussion.
  • Wednesday, December 12, 2018, 5:30 pm: Planning Commission meeting- review of draft 5-Year Recreation Plan.
  • Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at 5:30 pm: Planning Commission meeting- official public hearing regarding the 5-Year Recreation Plan.

 

5-year recreation plans are approved by the State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and will qualify Sullivan Township to apply for DNR grant funding. The purpose of these meetings is to discuss future parks projects within Sullivan Township. Citizens are encouraged to attend and provide input. Copies of the draft 5-Year Recreation Plan will be available for public review starting on December 14, 2018 at the Township Hall during regular business hours.

 

Citizens are also encouraged to participate in a community survey. The survey will close on Monday, December 3, 2018. Hardcopies are available at the Township Hall. The survey is available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/88PH99Y

 

Those unable to attend meetings or the public hearing are invited to submit written comments to the attention of Planning Commission at the Township Hall address cited above. All written comments must be received no later than 4:00 p.m. on January 15, 2019. If any citizen has a physical disability that may limit his/her participation in this hearing, please notify the Township Hall at least five (5) days prior to the hearing so that reasonable accommodations may be made.
